Recognise a Pilot?

HOW DO YOU RECOGNISE A PILOT? He will f^€k!n& tell you! If you are on a party with people you always find out first who is the vegan person in the room and thereafter you find the person who is a pilot. It might sound a bit strange but it is something like this.

I’m proud that I became a pilot. No, I didn’t say that correctly. I’m really proud that I am a pilot. I worked hard in school and it needed a lot of effort from me to study to become one. Nevertheless, on a party, I try to avoid the subject. A lot of people think you are narcissistic or extremely arrogant if you start to tell others that you are a pilot even if they asked it themselves. So I noticed shortly after flight school that if I told people that I was a wakeboard/watersport instructor (my former job before I became a pilot) that I could avoid the whole conversation where people ask a lot of questions about aviation and think you are an arrogant prick.

If I went to a party with friends I told people that I was a wakeboard instructor, I could have a nice conversation and then continue with a normal conversation about for example the weather. It was often a friend who killed my story by telling the others that I was a lying bastard and I’m actually a pilot. So you have to answer a lot of questions about aviation again and people think you only want to talk about flying. People often have a prejudice about pilots, positive and negative. To avoid this you don’t tell them that you are a pilot and the friends who often join on a party you tell them to shut up and don’t tell anyone. Problemo solved.

So YES, I’M A PILOT AND PROUD TO BE ONE BUT I’M JUST AS PROUD TO BE A WAKEBOARD INSTRUCTOR!
